Despite his personal woes, the 35-year-old singer managed to smile and play with some local children at the Fire restaurant at Mansion House.
His public appearance came as he dismissed rumours that he is planning a permanent move Down Under.
The star took to Twitter this morning to deny the reports published. He wrote: 'I hear some papers are saying I plan on moving to Oz. great country but my kids live in Ireland and so will I.'
A spokesperson for the Boyzone star also confirmed to Mail Online that Ronan will remain in Dublin for the six months of the year that he doesn't need to be in Sydney to film the Australian version of The X Factor.
The Daily Mirror reported today that Keating is to relocate permanently Down Under, 11,000 miles away from his family because 'he's become a big star there and enjoys the lifestyle.'
But now the singer has confirmed that despite loving the country, no such plans are in place.
The reports came just a day after he confirmed his split from wife Yvonne, 37, and had it been true would have certainly rubbed salt in the fresh wounds.
Keating has been working as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor since 2010, and spends as much as six months of the year there.
Despite this, the star is a devoted father to his children Jack, 13, Marie, 11 and Ali, six.
