Ronan and Una duet for charityWell, as far as Saturday nights go, we can't complain with what we got up to (yes, not everyone stayed in to see Cher getting the boot - most people did, but not everyone). And that's because the very lovely Ronan Keating (forgetting all previous naughtiness of course) invited us out to his annual Emeralds & Ivy Ball in aid of The Marie Keating Foundation and Cancer Research. The event was held at Battersea Power Station in London and the whole place was done up with fairy lights, lighting the entrance and a whole host of champers and gin cocktails to get us through the night.
While there, we had a chat with Ronan who told us he was really happy to be back in the UK after his stint as a judge on the Aussie X Factor and wife Yvonne looked happy to be by her husband's side as he schmoozed everyone before the three-course meal and auction. Looks like the pair are back on track after Ronan's indiscretion earlier this year.
Plus Ronan was also joined by The Saturdays on the night and he even invited Una Healy on stage to sing Fairytale of New York with him. Vanessa, Rochelle, Frankie, Mollie and their S Club Juniors pal Aaron Renfree danced away with us while Una Irish danced with Mr K on stage – and it was all brought to a nice end when Ro' revealed the total raised for the night was over £700K – beating last year’s record collection.
A good night and a good cause!
